Interested in JLCU? Come to a Social Event!

The start of summer means one thing for Junior League of Champaign-Urbana: it’s time for our summer socials to get underway!

These events are the perfect opportunity for perspective new members to come and get a little taste of what Junior League is all about. At each social event, current JLCU members will speak briefly about their personal experience with Junior League and the benefits of membership in the organization. The rest of the time is spent socializing and allowing perspective members to meet current members, ask questions, and just have a good time! We will provide light appetizers at each social event, and drinks will be available for purchase.

The summer social event dates, times, and locations are as follows:

  • Tuesday June 9: 6-8pm at Jupiter’s at the Crossing
  • Tuesday July 14: 6-8pm at Blind Pig Brewery
  • Tuesday August 11: 6-9pm* at Houlihan’s

*Note: there will be a one-hour orientation for new members from 8-9pm following the August social event.

In addition to the three socials listed above, we are also hosting two coffee chats this summer. These smaller events will provide a chance for perspective members to chat one-on-one with a current member of JLCU and get information about the organization. Can’t make it to any of the evening socials? Come grab a cup of coffee and let us tell you about League!

Coffee chats:

  • Thursday July 23: 5:30-6:30pm at Café Paradisio
  • Tuesday August 25: 2-3pm at Café Kopi

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us via our new member Facebook page or through our website. We are looking forward to a fun-filled summer of socials! Hope to see you there!
