The Junior League of Champaign-Urbana would like to recognize member, Rhonda Coleman, for recently being named Champaign County’s newest associate Judge. Rhonda is making history in Champaign County, as she will be the first African African-American jurist and will be the fifth woman to serve as a Champaign County judge.
Rhonda currently serves as the branch supervisor for the Urbana office of the U.S. attorney for the Central District. She has prosecuted a variety of criminal matters, including tax code violations, bank fraud, drugs and weapons cases.
Rhonda is currently on the JLCU Community Impact Council serving as a committee member of the Kids In The Kitchen Committee. JLCU partners with the Don Moyer Boys and Girls club to put on a childhood obesity initiative that emphasizes nutrition education. Kids in the Kitchen is a series of events that will be held throughout the school year.
Rhonda is also a board member of Girls on the Run Champaign County, a group that motivates young girls to be self-confident and healthy through running.
